GOP agenda steals from the poor and middle class.

I had this letter to the editor published in the Oklahoman on April 10, 2011 (I am a bit behind this week, lol.)

Congressional Republicans say they want a balanced budget, yet serious cuts to defense expenditures are conspicuously absent from their deficit reduction plans. They should heed the advice of their colleague, U.S. Rep. Ron Paul of Texas, and stop trying to run (and fund) a military empire. It’s time to bring our troops and fleets home and to deploy them to actually protect the United States homeland in support of a nonimperial foreign policy.

Until this is the Republican platform, their deficit hawks are just another gaggle of political hypocrites, rewarding their friends, punishing their enemies and stealing from the middle class and the poor in order to give to the rich and well-connected.
